Hope you all had a great Christmas break. This month I was contacted by a few students who are going to have an interview for CDT this month. I just want to let you know that I have created a new section on my blog for easy access to my blogposts where I described my interview. On the right-hand side below, about me and join my mailing list you can find “Featured posts”. These two posts have quite good description in my opinion about my interview and it covers some other topics related to CDT. I hope you find them useful, but if your question was not answered in those you can email me. :)
Last Sunday I came back from home and I got ill pretty much straight away. I had big plans for this week but I could barely leave my house. I still went to Uni to thaw and feed my cells, but that’s all the work I have done. Also, when I’m ill its extremely hard to concentrate on anything, even typing is hard so I have done pretty much nothing this week. I have to submit my continuation report (30-page report) by the 15th of February and I still feel I don’t have much done. It might seem as if I have a lot of time to do it, but I need to get it to almost complete before that, so my co-supervisors could check it. I’m finally started to feel much better and I will go to Uni tomorrow and will start to work.
Also, my beamtime at Diamond Light Source, which was supposed to be at the end of January has been rescheduled. I am very pleased as I didn’t have enough time and my project requires more optimization that I thought it would. So now I will work on modifying preparation of solution for electrospinning and hopefully my fibres will turn out much better. I have previously mentioned that my cells were dying on them, so now I need to solve this problem. In addition, at the end of this month I will have a bachelor student who will work on my fibres, so I need to make sure that I have a lot of fibres on which he can work. :) It will be a busy month.
