I might be going to Japan

Few updates this week. I have discussed my project with both of my supervisors and at the moment I’m happy with the plan for upcoming months. For the past year, I was working a lot on fibres which was a part of a project I wasn’t willing to do even before I chose my PhD project. It’s not like I’m not interested, it’s just because I’m not a chemist and I don’t want to concentrate my project on something I am not competent at. If I did, then on my final viva I would have a lot of question regarding chemistry and fibres which I’m dreading. Don’t take me wrong I will still get them but the extent of details that I need to know will be significantly different. I didn’t want to tell my supervisor that I don’t want to do it as I was feeling like I’m letting him down. So, I hope my other supervisor will talk to him and it will be ok for me to concentrate on cell work. Now I will double check the collagen gel formation – we had some problems with it, but it should be ok now and if it works then I will do some cool imaging. Hopefully I will be able to add some great pictures to this blog.
Other good news is that our proposal for collaboration with Japan has been accepted and we are planning out our trips. The project is on developing contrast agents for computed tomography, so its related to my project which is cool. I’m not sure to which Uni in Japan I will go but I’m excited anyway. However, I won’t be going anywhere until next year which sucks. Well it might change, but in 2018 I might end up going to Japan twice. One for the collaboration and later for Termis world congress. I will probably take my boyfriend with me and we would stay longer there to explore. I would get all my expenses covered, but if I want to stay longer I can do it, my tickets would be still payed for, but I would have to get my own accommodation. I think it’s still good. :)
